Benq Help please!

Hi i am new here and have a problem with my Benq drive that i tryed to flash.

I followed the texbook guide to flash this and as far as i am concerned it should be ok, but it is not

the xbox gives me the insert disc in a 360 message on backups and originals

problem is the original key is only 1kb not 256kb Sad

i can open and shut the drawer so not sure if i can get around this.
i went to buy a new elite 360 and it had the liteon drive so today has been a real down.

Please help.

Your key should be 16 bits but will show as 1K.
Your fw which contains the key and the rest of the drive control stuff should be 256K (kilobytes) not kb (kilobits)

so if i still have the key 1k file can i recover even tho i dont have the 256kb original firmware?

Try Clearing your cache first. Go to memory on your 360 dashboard. when you hard drive is selected hit x,x, left bumper, right bumper, x, x then follow the prompts.
Test an original retail AND a burned game
if it's a no go then.

If you have the key, copy it from text.
(In Windows) Open, in firmware toolbox, an original benq firmware from xbins. Insert your drive key to the file and place it on the root of your flash drive. Rename this file orig.bin or just orig
Once that is done boot to your flash drive and use dosflash to flash the firmware to your Benq. Only write, don't read anything.

If it doesnt work that way then you do not have the correct drive key.
