flashing my samy 25 drive

hi i`m having trouble flashing my drive i am trying to flash the 52b on my drive buy when i go in to dos and type samread it says bad command or file then it loads a bit more then it displays the drive i select extreme and it just comes up with port 9800 master please help well stuck

another thing i have the older version 4.2 would that havething to with it cheers

did you put in enable 8000.iso it can be found in downloads and must be burned to DVD+R DL thats probably it

Personally, I would leave your firmware as it is. Unless you are getting lots of 'dirty disk' or 'open tray' errors and you want to see if 5.2 fixes them, there is little else that would warrant an upgrade.

If you still want to upgrade, then please follow the upgrade section in the tutorial;

leave 4.2b on it...have a sammy and never an issue...no need to upgrade if there are no probs...if you are playing back ups with out an issue why upgrade

the reason u need to use the 0800 disk is because ur drive was a ms25 and after you flashed it with 4.2b it looks like u have turned it into a ms28 drive. get ur hacked from the original boot disk u did it with and open it with 360firmware toolbox and see if it says spoofed as ms28 if it does u may be prone to E errors from xbox live. for having a different drive for the serial of ur xbox.
I suggest you get ur original and follow this little video i have just made!
then reflash ur drive so it is a ms25 again!

if you want to flash i would make the disc then flash to 5.2a and make sure to update xbox360 sam so you wont get an errors after live update can't remember if you can get fall update off games but if you play live or planning to you better update sam and then you should be fine if you never and dont plan to gon live then stay with what you have
